Road Atlas of Croatia and Slovenia from Freytag & Berndt with
detailed mapping of both countries at 1:150,000, street plans of city
centres in 18 main towns, plus road mapping of the whole of Europe at
1:3,500,000.
Each country is presented separately, followed by
the street plans and an index listing localities with their post codes
(for most locations in Croatia and all in Slovenia). The maps have
relief shading with spot heights to show the topography, with names of
mountain and hill ranges, etc. National parks and protected areas are
marked.
Road network includes small local roads and cart tracks
and indicates toll routes, seasonal closures, roads closed to or not
recommended for caravans, motorway services, gradients, etc. Scenic
roads and special tourist routes are highlighted. Railways are shown
with stations and along the Adriatic coast ferry connections are marked.
Also shown are long-distance hiking trails.
Picturesque towns
and villages and other places of interest are highlighted and symbols
mark campsites, youth hostels, game parks, etc. The maps have no
geographical coordinates. Map legend includes English.
Street
plans show the city centres of: Dubrovnik, Karlovac, Osijek, Pula,
Rijeka, Šibenik, Slavonski Brod, Split, Trogir, Umag, Zadar, Zagreb and
Varaћdin in Croatia, plus in Slovenia: Ljubljana, Celje, Kranj, Koper,
Maribor and Murska Sobota.
In common with many atlases published
in Central European countries, this title also includes road mapping of
the whole of Europe at 1:3,500,000.

Southern Serbia at 1:200,000 on a large, detailed, double-sided road map
from Freytag & Berndt, with its index booklet also providing street
plans of central Belgrade, Kragujevac and Niš. Coverage extends from
Belgrade in the north-western corner of the map, with a generous overlap
between the sides. Names of towns and villages are in both Cyrillic and
Latin alphabet.
Topography is indicated by relief shading with spot heights, plus
colouring for the forested areas; names of geographical features such as
mountain ranges, etc, are mainly in the Latin alphabet only. The map
shows the road network in much detail, including driving distances on
many small local roads, steep gradients, roads with seasonal closures or
restricted traffic, motorway services, etc. Railway lines are shown
with stations and domestic airports are marked. Symbols indicate various
places of interest, including campsites and youth hostels. The map has
latitude and longitude lines at 10’ intervals. Multilingual map legend
includes English.
The index, in a separate booklet attached to the cover, has street
plans of central Belgrade, Kragujevac and Niš. Street names are in the
Latin alphabet only.
The map also covers the northern part of Kosovo, including
Pristina/Prishtina and Kosovska Mitrovica, with names of towns and
villages in their Albanian and Serbian versions.
